The report, conducted by CENESS with the support of the Foundation for Development and Support of the Valdai Discussion Club, was offfered for a broad discussion during the presentation. Moscow, Russia - On October 22-24, 2015, Center for Energy and Security Studies (CENESS) held a Russian-U.S. meeting on The Iran Nuclear Deal: Implementation, Sustainability, and Prospects for Russian-US Cooperation'. Specialists from Russian and American think-tanks took part in the event, representatives of Russian governmental bodies dedicated to the topic took part in discussions.

Moscow, Russia - The Center for Energy and Security Studies (CENESS) organized a session on ‘The Iran Nuclear Deal: Russia's Interests and Prospects for Implementation'. The meeting, which took place precisely one month after the adoption of Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) in Vienna, was held in a form of conversation with the head of the Russian delegation at the nuclear talks between the P5+1 and Iran, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov. The presentation was made by Dr. Sig Hecker, Senior Fellow at the Stanford University and an emeritus director of Los Alamos National Laboratory. Representatives of Russian academia, think-tanks and governmental organisations took part in the followed discussion.

Beirut, Lebanon - CENESS Research Associate Dmitry Konukhov made a presentation on 'Prospects for Nuclear Power in the Middle East after Fukushima and the Arab Spring. Challenges and Opportunities for Russia' during the international workshop 'Emerging Energy Scenarios in the Middle East: Challenges and Implications' organised by Masri Institute of Energy and Natural Resources at the American University of Beirut (AUB). Interim results of a study of a same name, which was conducted by CENESS with the support of the Foundation for Development and Support of the Valdai Discussion Club, were unveiled for a broad discussion during the presentation. Pyongyang, DPRK - On May 19-22, 2015, the Center for Energy and Security Studies (CENESS) held fourth series of meetings on pressing nuclear issues with representatives of the North Korean research organizations and the DPRK Foreign Ministry. Discussions centered on possible measures to prevent further escalation of tensions in the Korean Peninsula, North Korea's nuclear policy and electricity development plan. CENESS experts also visited Kaesong Joint Industrial Complex and Port of Nampo during their travel to DPRK.

Moscow, Russia - Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed Decree No 72 “On the Composition of the Advisory Board under the Security Council of the Russian Federation”. The decree reappoints Anton Khlopkov, Director of the Center for Energy and Security Studies (CENESS), as member of the Board.

Moscow, Russia - Center for Energy and Security Studies (CENESS) held workshop on ‘P5+1 Nuclear Talks with Iran: Bottlenecks and Prospects'. The keynote presentation was made by Amb. Sergey Batsanov, Director of the Geneva Office of Pugwash Conferences on Science and World Affairs, participant of the 2014 Moscow Nonproliferation Conference, who was leading the Soviet, then Russian delegations to the Conference on Disarmament in 1989-1993.
