- UN Office at Geneva – On January 29-31 CENESS Director Anton Khlopkov took part in the 73rd Session of the Advisory Board on Disarmament Matters (ABDM). The meeting's discussions were focused on the changing international context for nuclear weapons in the 21st Century and current approaches to nuclear disarmament and arms control.

- Moscow, Russia – Director of CENESS Anton Khlopkov held a meeting with DPRK State Affairs Commission Member, First Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Choe Son Hui. The discussions focused on the situation on the Korean peninsula, diplomacy in the region, and Russian-DPRK contacts in this context. The results of the 2019 Moscow Nonproliferation Conference and future academic exchanges between CENESS and research institutes of the DPRK Foreign Ministry were discussed as part of the meeting.

- Moscow, Russia – CENESS held a workshop on 'Nuclear Risk Reduction: Who Needs It?'. The keynote presentation was delivered by Sir Adam Thompson, Director of the European Leadership Network (ELN), Fmr. British Ambassador and Deputy Permanent Representative to the UN in New York (2002-2006) and UK Permanent Representative to NATO (2014-2016).

- Saint Petersburg, Russia – On November 10-12 CENESS, the Preparatory Commission for the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty Organization (CTBTO) and Saint Peterburg State University (SPbGU) co-organized the International Seminar on ‘CTBT: Treaty's Impact on the International Nonproliferation Regime and Assessment of the Current State of Affairs'.

- Moscow, Russia – On November 7-9 the Russian capital hosted the 2019 Moscow Nonproliferation Conference, organised by CENESS. The event brought together 286 experts and officials from 38 countries and international organisations to discuss the most pressing issues in areas of nonproliferation, disarmament and peaceful uses of atomic energy. Traditionally, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov addressed the Conference's participants as Keynote Speaker.

- Moscow, Russia – CENESS and the James Martin Center for Nonproliferation Studies (CNS) co-sponsored the 7th US-Russia Dialogue on Nuclear Issues. The topic of the meeting was 'Does Arms Control Have a Future?' Representatives of leading Russian and US think-tanks and academia took part in the meeting.

- Pyongyang, DPRK – On October 1-2 CENESS held its tenth series of meetings with senior DPRK Foreign Ministry officials and representatives of the DPRK MFA research organizations. CENESS Director Anton Khlopkov held three meetings with the newly appointed DPRK Foreign Ministry's Institute for American Studies (IFAS) President Mr. Jo Chol Su. During his stay in Pyongyang CENESS Director has also visited the Museum of Weapons and Equipment of the Korean People's Army.

- Vienna, Austria – On September 17-18 CENESS and European Leadership Network (ELN) co-hosted a Russia–UK Dialogue on Nuclear Issues on 'Can Moscow and London Find a Way Forward on the NPT?'. Representatives of Russian and British think-tanks and academia, most of whom previously served to respective governments in their official capacities, took part in the event.
