Sameh ABOUL-ENEIN, Deputy Assistant Foreign Minister for Disarmament and Peaceful Uses of Nuclear Energy, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Egypt
Dr. Aboul-Enein has previously
served as Minister Plenipotentiary and Deputy Head of Mission of Egypt to the United Kingdom.
He has also been the Head of the Political Section and Counsellor for
Disarmament at the Permanent Mission of the Arab Republic of Egypt to the UN
and to the Conference on Disarmament in Geneva.
He is the former Director of the United Nations Affairs Department at the
Ministry of Foreign Affairs and worked earlier in the cabinets of two Foreign
Ministers. In the 1990s, he worked as a Research and Teaching Assistant at the
Political Science Department of the American
University in Cairo. He is also Assistant
Professor for Disarmament, Conflict and Security Studies at the School of Global Affairs of the American University
in Cairo, and Visiting Lecturer on Disarmament at
the University of Westminster, London.
Dr. Aboul-Enein has published a number of papers and articles on nuclear
disarmament, security & WMD free-zone in the Middle
East. Dr. Aboul-Enein holds a Master of
Science in Politics and Government of the Middle East from the School of Oriental
and African Studies, UK.
He has completed his Ph.D./M.Phil. in International Relations and Foreign
Policy Making with a specialization in the Middle East from the American University
in London and the University of London.
He also holds a certificate in Disarmament and Security Policies from the
Geneva Centre for Security Policy.
