Ausaf ALI, Maj.-Gen. (ret.), Director General for Policy, Doctrine and Strategy, Strategic Plans Division (SPD), Joint Services Headquarters, Pakistan Major General Ausaf Ali (Retired) is the Director General Policy at the Strategic Plans Division, which is the secretariat of Pakistan’s National Command Authority. In his capacity as the DG Policy, General Ausaf Ali plays a key role in the strategic programs that include nuclear, missile and space matters. He is considered amongst SPD’s pioneering team members. General Ausaf Ali was commissioned in the Pakistan Army’s Corps of Engineers in 1978. In thirty-nine years of service to Pakistan, he devoted fourteen of them to SPD and has continued after his retirement from the military in 2014. General Ausaf Ali is a graduate of National Defence University, Islamabad, Turkish Staff College, and Command & Staff College, Quetta, Pakistan.
