Moscow, Russia Russia in Global Affairs journal published an article by CENESS Director Anton Khlopkov and CENESS Non-Resident Research Associate Anastasia Shavrova entitled New Start Extension: Is There a Chance to Accomplish It in Time? The article reviews the procedure for extending the New START Treaty in Russia and estimates the minimum amount of time required for the extension to successfully become legally binding.

Tokyo, Japan CENESS Director Anton Khlopkov took part in the The Track 1.5 Meeting for Substantive Advancement of Nuclear Disarmament, organised by the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Japan. The meeting was attended by government officials from nine countries including nuclear weapon states and non-nuclear weapon states.

The presentation was delivered by Adam Stulberg, Professor and Chair of Sam Nunn School of International Affairs at the Georgia Institute of Technology. The meeting was attended by representatives of academia and expert community.

The conversation titled Prospects for Arms Control and Nonproliferation Regime: A View From India' was organized with assistance of the Center for Energy and Security Studies.
