Peter Jenkins previously worked for the British Diplomatic Service since 1973. His diplomatic career took him to Vienna (twice), Washington, Paris, Brasilia and Geneva. In 2001 he was made Ambassador to the International Atomic Energy Agency and other UN organizations at Vienna. There his primary focus was on the nuclear aspects of international peace and security, especially the Iranian nuclear issue. Since 2006 he worked for the Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Partnership in Vienna, and advised the Director of the International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis.
