Ms. Åsa Pernilla Gustafsson received her
Master's degree of Laws, from Uppsala
University, Sweden
in 1993. She studied political science in Université
de Genève, Switzerland
in 1994-1995. From 1997 she started to work in Swedish Ministry for Foreign
Affairs. Among other appointments she served in Middle East and North Africa
Department (2000-2001), Swedish Embassy/UN Delegation in Vienna, Austria
(2001-2006), Department for Disarmament and Non-Proliferation (2006). In
2007-2008 Ms. Gustafsson served as Representative of the Swedish Ministry for
Foreign Affairs in the Parliamentary Committee for Radiation Safety.
Since 2009 she also acts as a
Representative of the Swedish Ministry for Foreign Affairs in the Parliamentary
Committee on Nuclear Safety and Security Legislation. During the Swedish EU
Presidency in July-December 2009 she was a Chairperson of the EU Working Group
on Non-Proliferation.
